Day 1: God is Always With Us!

Because GOD IS EVERYWHERE, I know that I am never alone.

Read or quote the memory verse.

When I say "go," everyone take a big breath and hold it for 3 seconds. "Go!"

When we took that breath, air filled our lungs.

Was there still any air left in the room? (Yes!) Of course!

If you go into the other room, will there be air there?(Yes!)

If you're all by yourself on the playground at school, is there air there? (Yes!)

Like the air we can't see, God is also there. We are going to begin exploring God's omnipresence. That's a big word to describe the fact that God is everywhere, all the time.

Listen to Psalm 139:7-10:

I can never escape from Your Spirit! I can never get away from Your presence! If I go up to heaven, You are there; if I go down to the grave, You are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest ocean, even there Your hand will guide me, and Your strength will support me. Discover God Bible (NLT).

Is there any place you can think of where God is not there? (No!) (NOTE: Some may say "hell." Hell is the one place where God says He removes His presence. He maintains it by His power but He does not live there.)

Listen to the first part of the verse again.

Can you think of some reasons why a person would want to get away from God?(They want to do something they know is wrong; they want to rule their life rather than allowing God to rule it; they're mad at Him.)

Is there anything that makes you uncomfortable with the fact that God is always with you, and that you can never escape from His presence?

Listen to the last part of the verse again;

God is with us, in every part of our lives. Even when we die, we are never alone. God is with us. These verses give two other reasons that God's constant presence is a good thing.

What do you think they are?("Because He's always there, He will guide us and give us strength.")

If God is not always with you all the time, you could never be sure He would be there when you need Him.

What do you like about God being everywhere?

Is there anything you don't like about God being everywhere?

NOTE: Read the following song lyrics to help reinforce this
attribute.

God Is There

God is there,
Everywhere,
Like the air you breathe!
Near and far,
Left and right,
High and low, there's no -
Place that you can hide,
From His loving eyes -
God is there!!

He knows when you've been bad and when you're good!
He loves to watch you giggle!
He smiles each time you're kind and He,
Sees every tear that you cry,
And He wants you to know,
You are never, ever -
Alone!!

God is there,
Everywhere,
Like the air you breathe!
In and out,
Give a shout,
'Cause there is no doubt!
God is there!!

He knows when you've been bad and when you're good!
He loves to watch you giggle!
He smiles each time you're kind and,

He sees every tear that you cry,
And He wants you to know,
You are never, ever -
Alone!!

GOD IS THERE!

Lyrics by: Katherine Bright

Why does it matter?

Sometimes you can feel alone--even in a room full of people. But God is with you everywhere and all the time! You are never alone!

Talk with God and Stay Connected
to the Vine!

Thank God He is always with you. Name one place that you are particularly thankful that He is there. (The doctor's office, school, the closet at night.)
